Franchot Says Boosting Western MD Economy a Focal Point

Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot has been a frequent visitor to Allegany County during his term in office- and it’s a habit he plans to continue. Franchot told local elected officials and business leaders recently that the Hogan administration is taking unprecedented measures to insure that rural Maryland is not an afterthought. Last year alone seven department secretaries visited the area and Hogan himself spent four days in Allegany and Garrett counties. The comptroller, who sits with Hogan on the board of public works, said boosting the regions economy has become a focal point…
