Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot says the state’s debt situation is spiraling out of control- and unfortunately it’s the taxpayers who are going to feel the hit starting next year. The state’s chief fiscal officer said the debt has been rising for several years, and nothing was done during this year’s general assembly session that ended two weeks ago to address the issue.
