Franchot Visits Cumberland; Meets with Local Businesses

Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot visited Cumberland Wednesday to get a first hand look at progress being made on the new Allegany High School and to encourage area residents to shop local for the holidays.  In the morning, accompanied by school board members and Superintendent David Cox, Franchot surveyed the construction site atop Haystack Mountain. A frequent visitor to Allegany County, Franchot told WCBC News that the county has a good reputation in Annapolis when it comes to such projects…
