On December 25 at 3 am city police in Cumberland responded to the 1600 block of Frederick Street for the report of a domestic assault. The female victim stated that she had been assaulted by her husband. Officers observed evidence of physical injury to the victim. Matthew Stephen Tomczewski, 20, of Cumberland, was charged with second degree assault and released on personal recognizance.
