Frostburg Man Arrested on CDS After Traffic Stop

On 3/25/21, Deputies with the Allegany County Sheriff's Office, and the Frostburg Police City Department undertook a joint operation to detect and deter the use of controlled dangerous substances. During the operation, Dep. Wright observed a vehicle operating in the area of Grant Street while violating Maryland traffic law. Dep. Wright conducted a traffic stop and subsequently requested the assistance of a Sheriff's Office K9 team. After the deployment of the team a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. 

During the search a sum of U.S. Currency, suspected Methamphetamines, and Brass Knuckles were located. At that time the operator of the vehicle Christopher Lee Bowman, 29 of Frostburg was placed under arrest with the following charges: 

Possession with the intent to distribute not marijuana
Possession of not marijuana
Wear and carry concealed dangerous weapon
CDS possession of paraphernalia

 

The joint operation continued for approximately six hours producing the following results:

35 traffic stops, 9 K9 deployments, 5 vehicle searches based on officer observations, 4 seizures of suspected controlled dangerous substances, 1 Criminal adult arrest, 2 adult traffic related arrests.
