Frostburg man convicted on drug charges

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Maryland, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, announced on October 11, 2013, that Brendan Patrick Orr, 25, of Frostburg, Maryland, was found guilty, by a Allegany County Jury of  conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin, possession of heroin and possession of controlled paraphernalia.  On November 12, 2013, Orr was sentenced by the Honorable W. Timothy Finan, Circuit Court Judge for Allegany County, Maryland, to eleven and one half (11.5) years incarceration as part of a larger suspended sentence.  Upon his release from the Department of Corrections Mr. Orr will be on three (3) years of supervised probation.

Prosecuting the case for the State was Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel Lane; Mr. Orr was represented by Michael Stankan and James Elliott, of the Public Defenders Office.
