Frostburg man sentenced to ten years on rape charges

Allegany County State’s Attorney Mike Twigg  announced on Tuesday, that Michael Thomas McKenzie, 24 of Frostburg, was sentenced in the Allegany County Circuit Court by the Honorable Judge Timothy Finan to 10 years, with 5 years suspended for second degree rape relating to the sexual assault of a 16-year old minor in January of 2018.  Upon his release, McKenzie will be on five years of supervised probation with a condition that he register as a sex offender for life. The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Karen Detrick and Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel Lane.  McKenzie was represented by Linda W. Buckel, Esquire of Buckel, Levasseur & Pillai, LLC and Ramon Rozas III, Esquire of Rozas Law Office, LLC.
