The Cumberland Times News reports the local Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 172 hosted a group of cyclists Friday as they stopped in Cumberland on their way from Pittsburgh to Washington. The cyclists are veterans, too, and are riding to honor the men and women who have served while also raising funds needed for veterans services.
Sponsored by the Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania, 21 veterans are cycling the 335 miles from Pittsburgh to D.C. to raise more than $26,000 for fellow veterans on their first official fundraising ride.
The group requested to share dinner with local veterans on their stop in Cumberland Friday.
