Funds being raised for woman attacked by bear

November 26th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

A crowdfunding page has been set up for the Frederick County woman attacked by a bear last week in the driveway of her daughter's home near Gambrills State Park. Karen Osborne's brother created the page because his sister has no health insurance.

The mother bear was put down by Natural Resources Police after it attacked Osborne who went outside to check on why dogs were barking. Police said the mamma bear was protecting her cubs and that's why she attacked Osborne.

Osborne suffered a broken pelvis, broken arm and cuts on her head and upper body. She is back home and will need several weeks of rehab.
