Gas Prices decline heading into Holiday Week

November 18th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Lower gas prices will be on the menu for the more than 43 million Americans and nearly 934,000 Marylanders expected to hit the road for Thanksgiving. Today’s national average price of $2.15 per gallon is four cents less per gallon than one week ago and nine cents less than one month ago, yet two cents higher than last year’s price on this date.  The abundance of crude oil in the global market is contributing to lower gas prices. While Maryland’s average price is slightly higher than the nationwide cost, the state average at $2.17 per gallon is three cents lower than last week’s price, nine cents lower compared to a month ago, but three cents higher than last year’s price on this date.
