Gas Prices Level Off

June 25th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Nationwide and across Maryland gas prices have leveled off with many metro areas seeing prices up to six cents less than this same date last week. This weekends national average is $2.32 per gallon, three cents less than last week but still higher than last month’s price by three cents. However, the national average is down 46 cents per gallon versus this same date last year, and the savings are likely to continue as supply appears more than capable of keeping pace with growing demand. Maryland’s average cost is lower than the national average at $2.29 per gallon, which reflects a three cents drop week-over-week.  The state average is now less than last month’s price by a penny, and continues to trend lower than last year’s prices with today’s cost at less than 48 cents per gallon. In Cumberland the price has dropped six cents from a week ago standing at $2.35 a gallon
