Gas Prices on the rise for the Holiday

Gasoline’s spring fling is in full effect across the Mid-Atlantic region and motorists are paying the highest prices for this time of year heading into the Easter and Passover holidays since 2014. Today’s national gas price average is $2.65, which is up six cents in the last week, up 12 cents in the last month and 34 cents higher than this time last year. For the second consecutive week, Maryland’s average cost at the pump is pacing slightly higher than the national average. In Cumberland prices are up two cents from a week ago. Today’s state average is $2.67 per gallon, two cents higher than the national average. Maryland’s average is six cents more than last week, 17 cents higher than last month, and 36 cents more than last year’s price on this date. Most metro areas across the state are experiencing steep weekly increases, most notably Hagerstown and Salisbury with double-digit weekly increases.
