General Assembly Approaches Sine Die

April 9th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

The 2018 Session of the Maryland General Assembly will come to an end Monday night at midnight. It has been usual for an election year in that several issues that usually would be avoided have come up.

Governor Larry Hogan has bemoaned the change in how school construction funding has been moved from the Board of Public Works.

Senate Bill 1265 came up for a late hearing this week in the Maryland House Budget and Taxation Committee. The bill is titled "The Safe To Learn Act," and addresses security at schools.
