Gov. Hogan Plans To Introduce Bill That Would Require Employees Be Offered Paid Sick Leave

Governor  Larry Hogan plans to introduce a bill to the Maryland General Assembly requiring businesses to offer employees paid sick leave- and while the local legislative delegation has yet to take an official position on the proposal- there are some early concerns.  If passed, District 1 Del. Mike McKay said the measure could take away the flexibility employers have to “take care” of employees when they need it most. In addition to serving in the House of Delegates, McKay is himself a small business owner.  He says that while the plan in its current form, could limit the flexibility of small business owners- he applauds the governor for at least attempting to tackle the problem…
