Maryland Governor Larry Hogan says the renewable energy measure that passed the general assembly in April isn’t clean enough, and he has announced his own goal of reaching 100 percent clean energy in the state by 2040. Hogan declined to veto the measure as there were enough votes for an override- thus the measure will become law without his signature. The legislature’s bill increases the state’s Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard from 25 percent by 2020 to 50 percent by 2030. But the Republican governor says he has serious concerns that the measure could send too many jobs out of the state….

The people of Maryland are buying more and more black liquor electricity from paper mills in other states while they while there pollution rules put Maryland paper mill workers out of jobs
