Gov. Hogan Warns Marylanders Against Coronavirus Complacency

July 4th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

Gov. Larry Hogan is warning  Marylanders, particularly younger residents, not to become complacent about the coronavirus. Speaking at the start of the Board of Public Works, he highlighted the 4.72% positivity rate, a number down more than 80% from its peak. More than 9% of Marylanders have been tested for the coronavirus.

"And while all of this news and all of these numbers, it's encouraging, I still want to continue to caution the people of Maryland, particularly as we head into this Fourth of July weekend that this crisis is not behind us," Hogan said.

The virus is on the upswing again in much of the country. Officials in eight states on Wednesday announced single-day record highs.

We’re not complacent in Cumberland. We pretty much ignore everything.
