March 9th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

According to the Garrett County Sheriff's Office, a Grantsville man was injured Tuesday when he failed to stop at a stop sign at an intersection in Swanton, then collided with another vehicle. Clinton Durst, 42, was taken to the Garrett Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries sustained in the 4:07 p.m. crash, police said.

Police said Durst was operating a 2009 Suzuki SX4 compact vehicle eastbound on Green Glade Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and made a left turn onto Bittinger Road. The Cumberland Times News reports the Durst vehicle was struck by a 2001 GMC Sierra truck — traveling on southbound Bittinger Road into the intersection — operated by Nicholas J. Hardy, 34, of Hyndman, Pa. Hardy was apparently not injured.

Police cited Durst for driving with license privileges suspended and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Deer Park and Bittinger volunteer fire department also responded to the scene.
