A 16-year-old girl shot earlier this week at Great Mills High School has died. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that Jaelynn Willey died at 11:34 p.m. Thursday.
In a conference held Thursday evening, Jaelynn's mother said her daughter was shot in the head and was brain dead. There is "no life left in her," her mother said. The family made the decision to take her off of life support.
"On Tuesday, our lives changed completely and totally forever. My daughter was hurt by a boy who shot her in the head and took everything from our lives," her mother said.
