Greene Street Reopens After Truck Incident

On Thursday, August 13, 2015 at approximately 8:50 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to Greene Street at Chase Street in reference to a tractor trailer striking the over head train bridge.  The tractor trailer was traveling east on Greene Street and attempted to travel through the underpass at which time the trailer struck the overhead train bridge.  The roadway was closed down due debris from the damaged trailer.  CSX was notified of the accident and train travel was not affected.

The tractor trailer was removed from the scene after the remainder of the load was off loaded and transferred to another trailer.  Greene Street was closed at Allegany Street and South Walnut Place for approximately four hours.

Greene Street was reopened at 12:30 p.m.
