Grim Asking For Federal Help With C&O Canal Place Basin

September 16th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

Cumberland Mayor Brian Grim has written to the National Park Service asking for attention to the C & O Canal Place Basin.  In Grim’s letter to Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis, he mentions a recent meeting with Senator Ben Cardin and Congressman John Delaney that declared the basin the most pressing federal priority for the city.  Grim wants federal help in fixing the pumps and the leaky basin that have left a muddy bog with limited water and overgrowth.
