Grim Sees Land Swap as Good Deal for City

Although the Cumberland Mayor and City Council won’t take formal action on the proposed three way land swap that would pave the way for a new Allegany High School to locate at the former Sacred Heart Hospital site- comments from Mayor Brian Grim give every indication that it will be approved. The plan would see the city provide 40 acres of land adjacent to Constitution Park to the Western Maryland Health System, which in turn would donate the Sacred Heart site to the Board of Education. Grim, in a prepared statement, said there are a number of reasons as to why this is a good deal for Cumberland…
