Group Opposed To Wind Turbine Project Holds Informational Meeting

November 6th, 2019 by WCBC Radio

Over 150 people showed up at Bel Air Elementary school last evening for an informational meeting sponsored by the group opposed to a wind turbine project that may again be proposed for Dan's Mountain.

Jen Shaw, from the ANCHOR group, walked the standing room only crowd through a power point presentation and commented on the potential $1 million in new tax revenue associated with the project…

The rationale for a recent zoning appeals reversal on the issue, which would allow the project, is expected to be released in about ten days. ANCHOR will likely challenge the reversal in Allegany County Circuit Court, and eventually at the Maryland Public Service Commission.

Another public session has been slated for Tuesday, November 12th, at the Midland Fire Hall.

To me it is a quality of life issue. They are UGLY. Sooo, if you want to build them, make it worth my while to have to look at them. AKA, $30/month electric bills instead of $100/month??? We all know that can’t and or won’t happen, so I say NO build.
