Gubernatorial Candidate Pledges To Cut Taxes

June 14th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler is proposing a middle class tax cut, as Maryland's primary in the governor's race is less than two weeks away.

WBAL reports Gansler  proposed the tax cut for households with incomes between $50,000 and $100,000 a year. An individual would get a $200 income tax credit for 2016, 2017 and 2018 tax years. Families would get a $400 tax credit for each of those years.

Early voting began Thursday. It will continue for a week. Maryland's primary is June 24.

A poll by The Washington Post this week indicated Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown has a big lead over Gansler in the Democratic primary for governor, with 46 percent of likely voters supporting Brown and 23 percent supporting Gansler. Del. Heather Mizeur had 16 percent.
