Hagerstown man charged for setting vehicle on fire

A Deputy State Fire Marshal has charged a Hagerstown man who intentionally set a vehicle on fire in Hagerstown. The vehicle is owned by Allison Sween. The vehicle was reported stolen on July 10, 2018, by Regginald Devante Luv Moody.
On July 11, 2018, at approximately 07:31 am the Washington County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Office of the State Fire Marshal as a result of a search they conducted indicating that a fire had occurred in the unattended vehicle at 19723 Shiloh Church Road in Hagerstown. The fire had self extinguished prior to the Sheriff’s Deputy’s arrival and therefore, no fire department response was required. The Deputy State Fire Marshal responded and conducted an Origin and Cause Investigation.
As a result of the investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal, Regginald Devante Luv Moody (08/23/1995) was charged with Arson 2nd Degree, Malicious Burning 1st Degree and False Statement to Officer. Damage was estimated at $1000. Mr. Moody was transported to Washington County Central Booking by the Deputies from the Office of the State Fire Marshal, at approximately 10:20 a.m without incident.
Mr. Moody was released on a $10,000 unsecured personal bond.
