Harris Points to Fentanyl Bust as Reason for Border Wall Need

Maryland’s lone Republican representative in Congress,  Andy Harris,  said a fentanyl bust announced last week  bolsters the case for a border wall. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said they made their biggest bust yet, discovering nearly 254 pounds of the drug inside a load of Mexican produce headed into Arizona. Sometimes mixed with other drugs, just 2 milligrams is enough to kill most people.  Harris, a Cockeysville Republican said physical barriers like the one being championed by President Donald Trump are  the best way to obstruct the flow of drugs, and would be far less costly than other things that have been funded by lawmakers. The president is looking for  $5.7 billion for the wall; while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has ruled out allocating any funds for that aspect of border security.  Harris says he is somewhat encouraged that there are a number of democrats who have expressed a willingness to support wall funding…
