Health Matters Race announced

At their April 20 meeting, the Allegany County Commissioners proclaimed May as Mental Health Month.  Megan Mertz with Queen City Striders spoke about the 2nd Annual Mental Health Matters 5 Mile Run/1.5 Mile Walk that will be held on Saturday, May 13 at the Western Maryland Railway Station at Canal Place.  The event is intended to raise awareness for mental health issues, and proceeds from the race will go to the Mental Health System’s Office (MHSO (CSA)) to assist consumers with critical needs where no other assistance is available.  The race begins at 8:00 a.m. and same day registration will be held beginning at 7:00 a.m.  Race applications may be found at www.qcstriders.com and also on Facebook at www.facebook.com/mhmrunwalk/ .  Shown in the photo, left to right, are Allegany County Commissioners William R.
