Heavy Rains Hit Area Saturday Evening

May 27th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

Saturday was a decent day until the evening, when the skies opened up and thunderstorms rolled through the area.

One to over two inches of rain fell in Allegany County very quickly, causing the National Weather Service to issue a Flood Warning, and DelFest to suspend its schedule for over an hour. More stormy weather is in the forecast today.

DelFest will conclude today at the Allegany County Fairgrounds, but being an outdoor event, like last evening, they will have to work around the weather.

Last night's delay did not hamper the enthusiasm of the crown, nor the performance of the All Star Bluegrass Congress, which took the Grandstand Stage just after 9 PM. Enjoy the festival, but be prepared.
