High Winds And Water Main Break Highlights Saturday

October 21st, 2018 by WCBC Radio

Cold weather arrived with a rush Saturday evening, with high winds, rain, some snow and even hail hitting the higher elevations of Mountain Maryland. Potomac Edison reported about a hundred customers lost power in Garrett County when the front blew through, and breezy conditions were expected to continue through the day on Sunday.

The City of Cumberland's Water Department was forced to make an emergency shutdown of service on Willowbrook Road, Country Club Road and Old Willowbrook Road Saturday morning due to a 12 inch water main break that occurred in that area. Crews were dispatched to the scene immediately to make repairs to the main.

Hope the repair to the road is better than the job done on Oldtown Rd, near the apartment complex. (IT IS TERRIBLE) Another example of the POOR Leadership of the City!!!
