Hogan Announces Reopening Indoor Dining, Parks, Pools, and Gyms

June 11th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

Beginning Friday at 5 p.m. indoor dining will be allowed to resume in Maryland at 50 percent. That announcement from Governor Larry Hogan on Wednesday. Restaurants will be required to follow strict public health requirements and CDC guidelines due to the coronavirus pandemic. Among the steps are requiring customers and staff members to wear masks as much as possible, keeping no more than six people at a table unless they live together and keeping buffets and self-serve options closed. Also able to open on Friday are outdoor amusement parks and rides, including mini-golf and go-kart tracks. Outdoor pools will be able to increase their capacities to 50 percent. Starting on June 19 at 5 p.m.: Indoor fitness, gyms, martial arts, dance and other studio-type activities, limited to 50% capacity and with other public health protective measures.  Casinos, arcades and malls can also reopen on that date with public health protective measures…

In addition, Superintendent Karen Salmon said that schools can now bring students into school buildings in small groups of 10 to 15 people for summer learning. This will focus on students most at-risk of failing behind in distance learning since schools closed March 13. Child care providers can now also reopen with a maximum of 15 children as long as they follow health department protocols. Outdoor high school sports practices can also resume under the same guidelines previously announced for youth sports.

I guess I missed the part where anything is different now than in March when the world was shut down. There is no vaccine or treatment for this virus. Children are required by law to be vaccinated to attend school. Kids, especially young kids, touch everything. Social distancing will be virtually impossible. It makes no sense. Scare the world to death then expect parents to send their kids to school again, with bizarre prison type rules.

Governor Hogan is smarter than this – he’s being pressured.
