Maryland could be a contender in the quest to land Amazon Inc.'s $5 billion, second headquarters with its 1 million-plus metropolitan areas, easy access to major interstates and international airports. The ecommerce giant already has a large —and growing — presence in the area and is expected to open even more distribution centers in the region in the next few years. The company employs 3,500 and counting in Maryland. The quest to land Amazon will be a highly competitive one, but Maryland Governor Larry Hogan thinks his state can make a strong case…
