As the world's eyes are currently on Afghanistan, Governor Larry Hogan has stepped up and said he, along with the state of Maryland, is ready to help with what is available. In the coming weeks, Maryland expects to receive more Afghan nationals through ‘Operation Allies Refuge,’ an ongoing operation which provides Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) to Afghan and Iraqi nationals who have contributed to U.S. efforts, whether through translation, interpretation, security, transportation, or other vital services…
