Hogan Tours Flooded Areas as Local Area Cleans Up Damage

September 7th, 2021 by WCBC Radio

Communities throughout the area spent much of the Labor Day weekend beginning to assess and repair damage caused Wednesday night and Thursday- as the remnants of Hurricane Ida delivered nearly 6 inches of rain in Cumberland and even more to the west. Fortunately there were no deaths or reports of serious injuries but plenty of property damage to homes and businesses. Car dealerships in the Motor City area were hit hard while some streets and neighborhoods in Cresaptown, Georges Creek and Corriganville had to evacuate. While Western Maryland took a significant hit, there was even more damage down state with tornadoes hitting Annapolis. Governor Larry Hogan toured the ravaged areas.
