March 6th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

The annual Hooley Plunge at Rocky Gap State Park on Saturday raised $150,000 for Special Olympics and other programs for the developmentally disabled, bringing the total raised in the 12 years of the event to more than $1 million. The Cumberland TImes News reports the 12th annual St. Patty’s Day Hooley Plunge attracted more than 1,500 people to Rocky Gap State Park to watch hundreds of participants plunge in the cold water of Lake Habeeb. Although temperatures were in the mid 40s and the lake was ice free, the water remained chilly.
