A house fire was reported early Monday morning on Simpson Ave. in LaVale. The Allegany County Sheriff's Department arrived on the scene and observed heavy smoke coming from the structure. The LaVale Fire Chief put a number of units in to service. The Maryland State Fire Marshall is investigating.
