IAC Expected To Approve Construction Funding For New Allegany

Allegany County Board of Education personnel are confident the Interagency Committee on School Construction will give the go ahead to approve construction funding for a new Allegany High School- and indications are the IAC is willing to do so, in part because of the tremendous cooperation demonstrated during the local process. IAC staff notified Facilities Director Vince Montana last week that a recommendation to provide state construction dollars for the project will be presented to the IAC Board for approval. Montana said the stage agency has been consistently impressed by the fact that the school board, City of Cumberland, Allegany County Commissioners and the Western Maryland Health System all worked together to secure the proposed site for the new school…
