On May 21, 2018, Crash Investigators with the Allegany County Sheriff's Office, and the Cumberland City Police responded to the area of Winchester Road, Lavale, MD for a reported pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.
Investigators found that a subject identified as Clarence Henry Lee, 62 of Pennsylvania had been transported to the Western Maryland Health System for treatment of serious injuries.
Investigators found that, Lee was crossing several lanes of traffic when he was struck by a 2007 Dodge Nitro operated by Michael McTaggart, 23 of Flintstone, MD. Lee was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the Health System.
Investigators with the Sheriff's Office have made extensive efforts to locate the next of kin for Clarence Henry Lee however; efforts have been unsuccessful.
After exhausting all available resources to notify the family of Lee the Sheriff's Office is requesting assistance from the public.
Any person who may have contact information for Mr. Lee's family or may have directly witnessed this collision is urged to contact Sheriff Robertson, or Sgt. C. Hill at 301-777-5959.
This matter currently remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office Crash Team, and Cpl. Sullivan of the Cumberland City Police Crash Team.
