Immigration Debate Comes to Maryland

The immigration debate, while currently centered on the southern border and President Trump’s continued  push for funding for a wall, came to Maryland this week with a  town hall meeting  in Anne Arundel County focused on the county executive's decision to end an immigration screening program. The 287(g) program allowed county detention officers to screen and report inmates for immigration violations. WBAL reports the decision sparked a debate between people who live in the county. County Executive Steuart Pittman has not wavered on his position that he is committed to ending the program during his campaign and said it will have no impact on public safety.  Pittman says the perception that there is a massive illegal immigration problem is simply not accurate…

    Knowing that Maryland has issued drivers licenses to non legal people. They receive benefits that American’s get. We, should not let our State, give tax dollars we pay in taxes, they wouldn’t be so apt to flood this country. If, they are here illegally they shouldn’t receive anything but a one way ticket home! Where ever that maybe.
