Increased Interest In First Floor Restaurant Space At Footer Dye Works Building

In what was likely the last public project update of the year, officials close to the $9 million Footer's Dye Works Building renovation say interest has increased in the project with at least four new inquiries received regarding the first floor restaurant space.  During the most recent meeting of the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority- the board voted to move to a bimonthly meeting schedule- and won’t meet again until January 31st.  Footer Developer Michael Joy hopes to install a restaurant and brewery on the first floor, offices on the second floor and 16 loft apartments on the third and fourth floors. He says there has been tremendous interest in the loft apartments, and growing interest in a commercial venture. The project has strong support from the state, with Budget Secretary David Brinkley and Governor Larry Hogan making site visits recently. Governor Hogan is confident the project, when completed, will be a win-win for the state and the developer…
