Independent Poll Gives Gov. Hogan Sizable Lead

Even with Democrats holding a 2-1 voter registration edge over Republicans in Maryland- it appears the party’s gubernatorial nominee is the one facing the uphill battle. The first independent poll of the 2018 General Election campaign for Maryland governor gives incumbent Republican Governor Larry Hogan a sizable lead over Democrat Ben Jealous- 52% to %36.   Pollster Patrick Gonzales says that the poll find's Hogan's approval rating remains high with 71% strongly approve or approve of the job he is doing. Hogan's job approval rating among Democrats is 64%, among Republicans its 90%, and among unaffiliated voters it's 74%.  While Hogan’s numbers are among the highest in the nation, Marylander’s are not embracing the Republican Party’s leader, as President Trump’s ratings are not budging…
