On Monday, December 3, 2018 at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department received a report of shots fired in the 100 block of Arch Street. Officers arrived in the area and located spent handgun cartridges in the roadway. The area was secured and searched. Information was obtained from witnesses in the area who advised of one or two suspects responsible for firing the shots. Officers extensively searched the area and at this time have not been able to locate or identify the suspects. No injuries were reported as a result of the shots being fired.
The Maryland State Police and the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office provided assistance. Detectives from the County Combined Criminal Investigations Unit (C3I) responded to further investigate. A Crime Lab Technician from the Maryland State Police also responded to process the scene for evidence.
