The Allegany County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Team assisted by an Advanced Crash Investigator of the Cumberland City Police have concluded the investigation into the fatal crash which claimed the lives of Daniel Edward Shockey and Justin Todd Keller. The investigation revealed that Shockey had been traveling northbound in the southbound lane of Rt. 36 Barton, MD prior to the collision. Keller had been traveling southbound in the southbound lane. Though an attempt was made to avoid a collision it was unsuccessful. Both Keller and Shockey died on the scene of their injuries. The investigation further revealed the Shockey was impaired at the time of the collision. Shockey has been found at fault for failing to drive right of center, and driving while impaired.
