The Cumberland Times News reports that cause and origin of Saturday's fire that damaged the former Warner's Restaurant building remains under investigation.
The 9:30 a.m. fire was investigated by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office. Investigators worked into the afternoon Saturday in efforts to determine the cause of the blaze.
First-arriving Cresaptown volunteer firefighters reportedly found "fire through the roof" upon arrival and following alert by the Allegany County 911 emergency center.
Seventy-five volunteer firefighters from Cresaptown and allied volunteer fire companies responded to the incident.
