James, Marchini, Foote Win Board of Education

There were three open seats on the Allegany County Board of Education and the two incumbents retained their positions.  The top vote-getter was Sara-Beth James who said her campaign was successful for a variety of reasons.

Fellow incumbent Laurie Marchini gave an update on the new Allegany High School project on Haystack Mountain.

Newcomer Wayne Foote said he felt optimistic that he could work on repairing the frayed relationship with the county commissioners.

Foote, who edged Lorelee Farrell for the final spot on the board, added that although he has disagreed with many current board policies, he believes he can work with the other four board members.
