A local couple is just a few weeks away from beginning quite an adventure having been selected to represent Allegany County in the internationally televised trivia-based travel and adventure series Fireball Run. Cumberland City Administrator Jeff Rhodes and his wife, Liz, will join 39 other teams on a 2,000-mile journey through five East Coast states starting in September. Allegany County is among the destinations the teams will visit. Each season, the Fireball Run takes viewers on a real-life scavenger hunt through eight of America’s “under-discovered” cities, promoting tourism to some of the nation’s best kept secrets. Film crews have spent time in Cumberland this summer filming segments for the show.
