The Circuit Court for Allegany County has named James T. Speis, Jr. as the Court’s new Family Magistrate. “Mr. Speis has an impressive record of service and leadership in child and family law matters”, Administrative Judge Timothy Finan said. “Judge Getty joins me in welcoming Jamie. We look forward to him assuming the position on June 8.” As Magistrate, Speis will hear divorce, custody, juvenile, and other matters assigned to him by the Circuit Court. Mr. Speis, who has been attorney for the Allegany County Department of Social Services for over a decade, succeeds Richard Maslow who has served the Court as Family Magistrate for twenty years.
