Just one serious accident during day one of blizzard

Although a major snowstorm moved through Allegany County beginning Friday, just one serious accident reported  on the roadways. Two people were injured in an accident on snow-covered McMullen Highway at Rawlings. The Cumberland Times News reports the two were reportedly conscious at the scene and speaking to a motorist who stopped to provide assistance until first-responders arrived. The vehicle reportedly traveled across the snow-covered road and into a culvert before it overturned. Two Tri-Towns Rescue Squad ambulances responded to the scene along with volunteer fire units from Rawlings, Keyser and Westernport. Maryland State Police investigated.
