Justice Clarifies Obama Remark

June 3rd, 2020 by WCBC Radio

During his latest daily press briefing, Gov. Jim Justice fielded a question regarding a phone call that he had taken today with President Donald J. Trump.

In mentioning all of the economic goodness his personal friendship with President Trump has brought to the state, Gov. Justice made a remark in jest that all presidents were welcome in West Virginia, except for “maybe not Barack Obama.”

After a few politically-motivated individuals began questioning the tone of the comment, Gov. Justice provided clarification that the remark was made specifically in regard to the effect that the Obama Administration’s War on Coal had on the West Virginia economy from 2008-2016:

“Everyone knows that President Obama made it a specific strategy to destroy our coal industry and power plants which, for more than a century, had been the lifeblood of West Virginia’s economy,” Gov. Justice said after Wednesday’s briefing. “Before you know it, West Virginia was brought to our knees, especially southern West Virginia. I hated that so badly because the good people of West Virginia suffered beyond belief.

“I want to love everybody, and by that, I mean everybody, including President Obama,” Gov. Justice continued. “But, at the end of the day, what happened to West Virginia during his time in the Oval Office will take us decades and decades to recover from, if ever.”

I’m sure that being a coal mine owner has nothing to do with opinions.
He may find that kissing the POTUS hind end will come back to haunt him in the future, the near future.

Its funny how they all blame coal woes on EPA regulations when the largest reason for the lost of coal mining jobs was automation for the benefit of the owners. i.e. Automated mining machines mean less workers etc.

Not to mention how the mine owners quickly dumped all their responsibilities for miner retirement funds, safety and anything else they could cut back on.

Coal is a dying industry and has been dying for quite a while. It ain’t coming back no matter who is president. Green energy, solar, and wind platforms employ far more people than coal and that will continue to expand even further. The coal industry employs just over 50K people in the US. Green energy platforms employ more than 700K which is about 14 times the number of people in coal. Justice is a coal billionaire and his wealth was built on the backs of mostly poor people in southern WV.

Mortin D. Fornwalt, WTF?? First, you REALLY need to think before you speak/write. If you can (or get someone intelligent) look up online where the economy and stock market was when PRESIDENT Obama came to office, and how under his administration watch the market and economy turned around from a downward spiral, and throughout his administration continued upward and IS the BASIS for the strong economy when the IDIOTrump came to be. IDIOTrump, did nothing more than ride the OBAMA WAVE and falsely claim it as IDIOTrump doing. And not to be picky, what is your meaning of “blowing down to Muslim leaders”. I guess when you get an idea in your head it just has so much space to bounce around, and gets fragmented and confused and when it finally comes out doesn’t have much in the way of standing. Maybe you should play in the little boy sandbox.

What really gets to me about this guy (Jim Justice) is he portrays himself as a billionaire, yet he has multiple lawsuits / judgements from plaintiff in excess of $128 million, that he has failed to pay, which most likely results in as he said, “good people of West Virginia suffered beyond belief”. All due to his NOT paying what heehaw owes. I guess this is why Justice is such good ole boy pal to IDIOTrump. Worms of the slime stick together.
