West Virginia Governor Jim Justice met with White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Deborah Birx Monday morning. Justice not specify the circumstances or reason for the meeting but, later in the day during his COVID-19 briefing, recommended weekly testing for students at West Virginia colleges, referring to a recommendation by Birx.
The White House Coronavirus Task Force previously stated, “Universities must have weekly testing plans in place for the spring semester, mandatorily testing all students weekly to prevent spread in the community.”
During Monday's briefing, Justice, along with the members of his pandemic leadership team, received the coronavirus vaccine. The event was broadcast via live stream.
