Deputy State Fire Marshals have filed charges against two juveniles in connection with an Arson which occurred on Saturday June 21, 2014. Frostburg, Shaft, and Midland Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched at approximately 10:46 AM for a reported detached garage fire at a property known as 14 Grant Street, Frostburg. Twenty eight firefighters brought the fire under control with-in 10 minutes. One firefighter received a minor burn injury during the suppression operation. The fire was
estimated to have caused $35,000 dollars in damages. Fire Investigators determined the fire to be incendiary and with the assistance of the Frostburg City Police two juvenile suspects were subsequently charged. Both juveniles have been charged with Arson 2nd degree, Malicious Burning, Malicious Destruction of Property and Burglary 4th degree. The juveniles were released into the custody of their guardians.
