October 30th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

Surveillance evidence of a business burglary Thursday on Ward Street led to the quick arrest of a Keyser man who was charged in two burglaries of the same business. He was also served warrants for violation of probation and a separate case of domestic battery, according to the Keyser Police Department. The Cumberland Times News reports  Jeffrey Luke Talbert, 34,  was jailed Friday at the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail in Augusta following his arrest Thursday on two charges each of breaking and entering of a location other than a dwelling, destruction of property and three counts of petit larceny. Talbert was jailed awaiting a hearing on the charges late Friday morning in Mineral County Magistrate Court. Talbert is accused of forcing entry into the business on Thursday and at the same location on Sept. 20, police said. Talbert was reportedly served a warrant for a violation of probation in connection with felony convictions and a warrant stemming from a domestic battery complaint on Oct. 12 in Keyser. Keyser Chief Karen Shoemaker said, "Sooner or later this guy needs to be kept in jail. This arrest was made with evidence collected at the scene within two hours of the complaint. It's good police work and we had good cooperation from parole and probation officers in this case."
